Skipper: A Lazy Cat

One day, a few years ago, I was cleaning my room and my parent's cat Skipper was hanging out with me. I paused in between eliminating dust bunnies and looked over at Skip. He had propped himself up against a basket and was sitting upright, his large gut hanging out for all to see. It was pretty hilarious so I took a picture of it. This is a shitty illustration of that photo.

Lord Garland Jenkins

I saw this in Urban Outfitters and wanted to buy it; however, I couldn't justify spending $38 on a mass-produced print from UrbO. This cheetah, properly named Lord Garland Jenkins, is amazing though. Check out that crisp bowtie and sweetass eye patch. I bet he got that in his youth while taking down a zebra or water buffalo. Upon further inspection, this print is by an artist in Portland named Ryan Berkley and he has many other dignified animal portraits up for sale on his Etsy, including a tiger dressed in General's garb and a lion in a snappy suit. Such a great idea blending the majesty of the animal kingdom with the mundane of our world to create such fanciful images.

Why Cats Paint

I came across this book a couple of months ago in a bookstore and I really wish I bought it when I had the chance. There are some really great photos of a bunch of awesome felines showing off their artistic talents and it even delves into the reasons these purring Picassos paint. It almost tempts me into sitting my cat Ollie in front of a canvas with a bunch of paint and saying, "Ok, cat, let's see what you've got." Almost. You can order or learn more about Why Cats Paint by visiting Powell's Books.

The Swimming Tiger

Based on those crazy photographs of the swimming white tiger. I made this for my roommate. I think the red background makes him more ferocious.
